New video on Youtube.com: Muay Chaiya's 4B's of defence explained: Part 1

Attention: open in a new window.  E-mail

As promised (but pretty late) is a new video run-through of the 4 Baw Blas of Muay Chaiya. The tutorial runs through the basics of the immensely important Phlik Liam, and then on to explaining the basic techniques used for Bong, Bat, Bit and Beurt in the Muay Chaiya defense, and demonstrations of Bat Malaeng Wan and Dop Hoo exercises that can be used to practice the 4Bs.

Apologies, as in the video I'm a little tired! It had been a long few days helping Antonia and Arman film videos for their respective TV/Youtube slots. So again, sorry if I'm unclear at all. As usual please feel free to comment and ask questions, especially as I haven't been clear!

I'm working on Part 2 now, so hopefully it'll be up by the time you read this!

New school, new website

Temp site for new Muay Thai/ Muay Chaiya school in Phuket, Thailand. Baan Muay Thai Nai HaanOne of the reasons I've been quiet and not posting much in the last 6 months is trying to get together with some friends down here in Phuket to create a new Muay Thai school.

Since I've been down here I've had the pleasure of getting to know some of the Muay Thai community and I thought that doing something a little different and new would be kinda cool, and breathe a little something new in to the standard Muay Thai camp mix. So, after much thought and planning, our school is under construction in between Rawai Beach and Nai Haan beach right down in the south of the island.

So what's new you ask? Well, I'm sure you've guessed that I'll be teaching Muay Thai Chaiya, but the cool part is that we'll also be teaching ring Muay Thai in the same location. That's right one school, two gyms, providing the opportunity to get the best from both worlds. In addition, we'll be teaching with a new structure, and level based approach to make the learning experience much more personal and specific to each student's needs.

I'm still ironing out the details, but I'll be ready to teach at the beginning of January 2010, and the Muay Thai gym will be ready at the end of January. With great accommodation onsite, kitchen and chill out area, all set in a beautiful location, this is really something you shouldn't miss.

So head on over to the temporary website for Baan Muay Thai Nai Haan, and leave your email address, so I can keep you up to date on all happenings in the future.

Not teaching at Sukko Spa... things r changing...

Attention: open in a new window.  E-mail

So, life is all about change, and so after nearly a year at Sukko Spa, I've decided to leave and stretch out a little. Appologies to all who've contacted me and waiting for a reply, I've been in between moving houses etc, and so have been very busy with limited access to the internet.

I'm currently working out logistics of teaching somewhere new, so please be patient. It's not as easy as it may seem, due to visa's etc, but I've got a few things in the pipeline which should work out well, but may take a little time to put together.

In the meantime, I'm putting together a workshop which I'm planning on doing abroad. I'm currently talking with a friend in Sydney about coming over for this, so any of you who're in Australia, drop me a line and let me kow if you're interested. Stay tuned for more details and a very new look to mymuaychaiya.com!

I'm up in BKK at the moment hanging out at Baan Chang Thai if anyone's in the area, pop in and say hello.

So... it's taken long than it should, but mymuaychaiya.com is now viewable to Safari and other browsers.

Silly really, just a stupid bit of Javascript in my template was causing the site to be unviewable. Schoolboy error, but fixed now.

So, to all the people who've not been able to get into the site, welcome and enjoy!

 Nathan
