Welcome
Welcome to mymuaychaiya.com, your one stop for information regarding Muay Thai Chaiya. There isn't much detailed information about Muay Chaiya on the net, just some videos and lots of chatter on message boards and forums. It's hard to know what's what.
myMuayChaiya.com is hoping to solve the problem by giving some information on the Muay Chaiya style, including techniques, school information and advice. If you've got any questions or ideas for future articles, or would just like to contribute, please feel free to contact and ask.
New school, new website
Thursday, 03 December 2009 16:10
One of the reasons I've been quiet and not posting much in the last 6 months is trying to get together with some friends down here in Phuket to create a new Muay Thai school.
Since I've been down here I've had the pleasure of getting to know some of the Muay Thai community and I thought that doing something a little different and new would be kinda cool, and breathe a little something new in to the standard Muay Thai camp mix. So, after much thought and planning, our school is under construction in between Rawai Beach and Nai Haan beach right down in the south of the island.
So what's new you ask? Well, I'm sure you've guessed that I'll be teaching Muay Thai Chaiya, but the cool part is that we'll also be teaching ring Muay Thai in the same location. That's right one school, two gyms, providing the opportunity to get the best from both worlds. In addition, we'll be teaching with a new structure, and level based approach to make the learning experience much more personal and specific to each student's needs.
I'm still ironing out the details, but I'll be ready to teach at the beginning of January 2010, and the Muay Thai gym will be ready at the end of January. With great accommodation onsite, kitchen and chill out area, all set in a beautiful location, this is really something you shouldn't miss.
So head on over to the temporary website for Baan Muay Thai Nai Haan, and leave your email address, so I can keep you up to date on all happenings in the future.
Some good questions on Muay Chaiya
Friday, 20 November 2009 06:12
First, let me apologise to readers of my site, and people interested in Muay Chaiya, as I've been very busy over the last 6 months and haven't had the time/energy to add any real content to the site.
I do however receive a lot of emails with questions regarding Muay Chaiya, to which I try my best to answer and usually end up writing longer answers than initially intended! Recently Zdenek from the Czech Republic contacted me with some good questions, and I thought I'd share them.
It’s nothing like Muay Thai

Those of you who have been reading my posts know that I try to get back to Bangkok as often as possible to do more training at Baan Chang Thai, and spend some time with my good friends there.
On this occasion, I was lucky enough to meet Antonio Graceffo a.k.a. The Brooklyn Monk, who has been traveling around Asia documenting a variety of martial arts styles.
I hadn't gotten around to do a propper write up of the visit, when I read a facebook post the Antonio had written, and thought that it was better to use that instead of me blabbering on as per usual!
So, here is the first guest post on myMuayChaiya.com, please enjoy...
Not teaching at Sukko Spa... things r changing...
Tuesday, 14 July 2009 05:20
So, life is all about change, and so after nearly a year at Sukko Spa, I've decided to leave and stretch out a little. Appologies to all who've contacted me and waiting for a reply, I've been in between moving houses etc, and so have been very busy with limited access to the internet.
I'm currently working out logistics of teaching somewhere new, so please be patient. It's not as easy as it may seem, due to visa's etc, but I've got a few things in the pipeline which should work out well, but may take a little time to put together.
In the meantime, I'm putting together a workshop which I'm planning on doing abroad. I'm currently talking with a friend in Sydney about coming over for this, so any of you who're in Australia, drop me a line and let me kow if you're interested. Stay tuned for more details and a very new look to mymuaychaiya.com!
I'm up in BKK at the moment hanging out at Baan Chang Thai if anyone's in the area, pop in and say hello.
